Event Details of ECC 2014
This years' ECC event will be our 15th edition. In honor of this milestone, we thought a Thanksgiving theme was more than appropriate. It will be a celebration of Peanuts, old and new friendships we have made over the years and the good we have collectively done through our donations to CCI. We will again be in Virginia with representatives of the Old Dominion Chapter who are happy to have us back. We hope to see old faces, new faces, and returning faces so we can celebrate together.
Richmond, VA is located along the I-95 corridor and is easily accessible by air, auto and Amtrak. The Richmond International Airport is located 25 minutes away from our host hotel and is serviced by Delta, United, American and US Airways. Amtrak has a stop just a 12 minute drive from the hotel.
Our host hotel is the Wyndham Virginia Crossing, an upscale property with a 4 star rating that won the Wyndham property of the year in 2012. This is possibly one of the nicest properties we have ever booked. We have secured a group room rate of $115 per night for single or double occupancy. The hotel is pet friendly. You can reserve your room(s) immediately by calling (804) 727-1400 and mentioning "East Coast Peanuts Collectors" for the group rate.
Kings Dominion Amusement Park, just a 18 minute ride from the hotel, boasts the country's largest Planet Snoopy. We are planning a Thursday outing to the park with a substantially discounted package price. The outing package includes park admission, parking, and meal at 3:30. In order to be flexible for our attendees, transportation to the park will not be included.
This year's theme is an ECC Thanksgiving, and the events are being planned accordingly. The Scavenger Hunt and Trivia Contests will continue this year along with the 2nd appearance of the SPIKE Bingo Party to be held during registration on Friday afternoon. Games of SPIKE will be "pay as you play" benefiting CCI and prizes for winners will be Peanuts themed. In 2012, $713 was raised for CCI during SPIKE. Details on this year's contests will be mailed with your registration confirmation 60 days before the event.
Donations for silent or voice auctions and door prizes are currently being accepted. ALL donations must be mailed ahead of time or arranged before the event. We ask that you refrain from donating very small type items such as Whitman's plush or PVC's, books or other very low value items. To donate, please email snoopyeastcoast@aol.com or call Susan Van Slyke at (315) 708-2255. Please leave a message. The donation deadline is July 1st.

ECC Committee Memebers
The 15th ECC weekend has ended and the committee is working on tying up the loose ends. As a group, we raised over $19,000 for CCI while having a good time, meeting people and finding those Peanuts treasures. We believe Wyndham Virginia Crossing was one of the best hotels we have stayed in to date and Kings Dominion was everything we could have hoped for. There were a few minor bumps in the road, but it wasn’t anything the new committee couldn’t handle and we believe ECC 2014 was a solid success.
The committee would like to extend a thank you to a great number of people. First of all, thank you to all of those who attended for coming. There were a lot of familiar friends and number of new faces. We hope all of you had a great time and will try to come back in 2016. We also want to thank all of those who volunteered for the event. The committee is only four people and without all of the volunteers our gatherings would not be possible. Finally, the committee needs to thank all of those who donated items to our cause. Without your generous donations we wouldn’t be able to raise nearly as much money for CCI. The success of the ECC 2014 is found in all of the great people who in one way or another had a hand in helping this event work.
It was a very busy weekend and we hope all of those who attended had as much fun as possible. May you stay safe and well.
Beagle Regards,
Chuck, Susan, Carol and Brian
